So today I need to look up the day a date fell on in 1963.

I Google a perpetual calendar and the sample date they use is 1963.

It happens way too often to me.  Twice today.

I'm surfin' the web (horrible metaphor) and watching tv.  I click on a link to a newspaper article.  The tv guy is starts talking about AIDS.  I turn to the link and the first article, not the one I'm looking for and it is about AIDS. 

Ok, no biggie, happens to everybody.  But....

The pooch and I are standing on the parkway next to the parking lot outside the dog park watching the action enjoying the breeze after a day at the vet's.   This truck from the city pulls up next to us and the driver whistles to me and points.  We're standing next to the only tree in the area that he drove all the way up the hill to water and our little zen moment is gone.

Current Mood: perplexed

They're stealing manhole covers in Long Beach. 

Bet you get a lot more for one of those than a sack of cans.

At work I was talking to a page about her homework and she said she had to do a paper on Barbara Kingsolver. Three minutes later and elderly housewife and asked for a just published title. It was by Kingsolver.

Today, driving to work the lady on the radio said something about two candidates "duking it out." I looked up and there was this guy standing on the corner wearing a USC had and a Duke sweatshrit.

We can say Iraq was a noble experiment, we can say our intention was good, to penetrate Iraq and bring it to a glorious, euphoric climax but it's clear now that's not going to happen. And yet, we're still pounding away, causing the whole area to become painfully inflammed and in that situation the kindest thing you can do it to pull out.

Friends grandma fell and maybe broke her leg today

And a nephew got hit in his car and when he was checking the damage got hit by another car and thrown on the hood of his car.

Japanese beetles drunk on philodendron juice.


About 7 beetles with flies crawling on them, stuck to the an emerging piece of the plant. Couldn't even hose them off.
